I am a Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS), have a masters in Soil Science and over 10 years of experience working in a variety of vineyards across the Western United States and Texas. Over that time, I have investigated a multitude of properties for vineyard suitability, fertility requirements for vineyard replanting, and general assessments of soil properties including: soil chemistry, soil mineralogy & color, soil structure, soil texture, drainage issues, water quality, soil biology, and nematode identification. Rootstock recommendations are also available with the analysis of these soil metrics.
Baseline soil analysis reports that are compile generally include site and soil pit photos, GIS property maps with soil series delineations, soil chemistry reports, physical soil property reports and a comprehensive analysis of all metrics as it relates to optimal vineyard suitability.
Lithic Soils Company, LLC can generate site specific maps of any evaluation site complete with contour lines (slope analysis), soil series delineations, and property boundaries.
